Freddie Cheek, M.S. Ed., CCM, MCD, CPRW, CARW, CWDP has 30+ years’ experience in Job Search Training Consultation, career coaching, adult education, job placement, resume writing, and human resources. She manages First Resume Services and Cheek & Associates,
two highly regarded businesses offering Career Decision-Making, Job
Search Training, Resume and Job Search Document Writing, and Career
Advancement Coaching. She is also a Certified New York State English
Teacher and former high school journalism and English teacher in New
York and North Carolina.
Freddie provides vocational and job search services to a broad range
of job seekers, applying her extensive experience serving the needs of
people with diverse occupational, educational, and economic backgrounds.
Clients include executives and managers, career changers, dislocated
workers, those returning to the workplace, and individuals seeking
career advancement. Freddie has serviced contracts and completed
assignments with the Department of Veterans Affairs, US Postal Service,
Child & Family Services Employee Assistance Program, AAA of Western
& Central New York, and New York State Office of Vocational &
Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID).
Her interview and job search advice has been quoted in books, journals, and websites and examples of her resume writing have been published in more than 20 books. Freddie
has presented dozens of workshops in the US and Canada at state,
national, and international conferences on a variety of employment,
resume writing, interviewing, and business topics. She has served as President
of the Association of Job Search Trainers, Vice President of Career
Directors International, and member of Career Masters Institute’s Advisory Board.
